Glossary of Terms

Chemise: A short straight nightie cut on the bias of the fabric to flatter and slim the body.  This can be sheer or satin.

Negligee: A loose, usually sheer nightie similar to a chemise

Peignoir Set: A negligee that includes a matching sheer gown

Baby Doll: A short nightie that is fitted around the bust and flares out toward the hemline

Pyjamas: Pant and top, originally styled after men's pyjamas

Teddy: An unstructured one-piece style, similar to a boydsuit

Camisole: A sleeveless top (usually thin straps) that can be paired with matching panty, thong or french knickers

French knicker: A very short short made usually of silk

Culotte: A very fitted sexy short, usually made of stretch lace. 

Brazilian: Similar to a brief but with less fabric in the back, usually fitted to minimise panty lines

G-String: Similar to a brazilian but skimpier with a thin strap in the back
